Legislative Day 29 - March 5, 2012

This is the 29th legislative day of the Georgia General Assembly.

A bill aimed to prohibit illegal immigrants from attending all of Georgia’s public colleges and universities passes the Senate.

The Senate spending bill for the next fiscal year – the Big Budget – passes the House Appropriations Committee today – putting it on track for passage by the House on crossover day.

A measure to increase the reporting of suspected child abuse to authorities clears the Senate.

Governor Nathan Deal’s Competitiveness Initiative is on our agenda tonight; Chris Cummiskey, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Alan Essig of the Georgia Budget Policy and Institute will join us on set.
