Legislative Day 9 - January 26, 2012

It’s the 9th legislative day of the 2012 session.

Committee hearings began for a constitutional amendment to allow Georgia to create state-sponsored Charter Schools.

The State Supreme Court found state charter schools unconstitutional last year.

Some Democrats say Georgia’s immigration law, HB 87, has hurt farming and the economy. They’re calling for repeal of the law.

We’ll take a look back at this week under the gold dome taking a look at issues from the budget briefings to ethics reform.

We are joined by two legislative experts to put this week’s capitol news into perspective; Tom Crawford of the Georgia Report and Chuck Clay of Brock Clay.

You can watch Prime Time Lawmakers every night the Georgia General Assembly is in session at 7p.m. on Georgia Public Broadcasting. The program re-airs the next morning at 5:30 am.
