Legislative Day 6 - 2011

There is no video for this file.

This morning the Senate overwhelmingly voted to override former Governor Sonny Perdue’s veto of a fiscally conservative zero-based budgeting bill. The bill requires state agencies to make detailed reports about expenditures. For the override to become final it must also pass the House, but speaker David Ralston today said the House doesn’t want to cause friction with the Governor’s office. The House instead is offering its own zero-based budgeting initiative.

We are also joined by two in-studio guests to talk about issues surrounding Georgia’s Water Needs: Senator Ross Tolleson, Chairman of the Senate Natural Resources Committee, and Sally Bethea, founding Director of the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper.

You can watch Prime Time Lawmakers every night the Georgia General Assembly is in session at 7pm and at 530 am the following morning.
