Legislative Day 33 - 2011

At the Capitol today state leaders marked the one year anniversary of the passage of the Federal Health Care law. Gov. Nathan Deal was joined by several republican members of Georgia’s congressional delegation in calling for the affordable care act to be overturned.

Last week the House passed a bill allowing Georgia to enter into interstate health care compacts. And the House passed a bill to improve district-wide education by developing coaching programs for principals and administrators. After training, school principals are then to pass on information to teachers in their schools.

We go in-depth on healthcare access and affordability. We are joined onset by Representative Ben Watson, a physician, and Holly Lang, the Hospital Accountability Project Director with Georgia.

You can watch Prime Time Lawmakers every night the Georgia General Assembly is in session at 7 pm, and at 5:30 am the following morning.
