Legislative Day 24 - 2011


Governor Nathan Deal’s HOPE scholarship funding bill came closer to becoming law as it passed a Senate committee today.Senate Democrats say they were left out of the process.

Also a bill that prohibits the state insurance commissioner from waiving license testing requirements for him or herself cleared the House. The measure came in response to former commissioner John Oxendine exempting himself from several licensing exams.

We continue our leadership interview series tonight with Senate Democratic Caucus Chairman Doug Stoner. Sen. Stoner gives his thoughts on the HOPE bill.
