The Senate passed its version of the FY 2011 amended budget today, but the work is not over. Senate changes will likely mean the bill will be taken up by a House-Senate conference committee before it achieves final passage.
The Bi-Partisan bill to change the HOPE scholarship passes the House appropriations committee this morning. The measure will end full-ride college tuition for most HOPE scholars.
And a controversial measure allowing billboard companies to clear roadside trees on state right-of-way passed the House. Opponents are opposed on environmental grounds, while advocates say the bill is good for business.
