Today the Higher Education Subcommittee of House Appropriations heard testimony that makes changes to the bi-partisan bill that makes changes to the HOPE scholarship and pre-K program. The Governor Deal–backed proposal ends the full–tuition guarantee for most HOPE scholars and reduces the pre–k programs hours.The measure is expected to be taken up by the full House Appropriations Committee tomorrow morning.
Also, the House passed legislation today establishing a study commission to look into k–12 education funding.The commission is to make its recommendations by the end of 2012.
