Citing Georgia’s overburdened prisons, state leaders today announced plans to find ways to release non-violent offenders and find alternative means of rehab. Governor Nathan Deal said the state’s budget emphasis should not be focused on incarceration of non-violent offenders.

Also, Chief Justice Carol Hunstein delivered her second state of the judiciary address before a joint session of the House and Senate today. Justice Hunstein called for increased funding for Georgia’s court system.

We are joined in-studio by Lester Tate, President of the State Bar of Georgia. We discuss funding issues in Georgia’s court system.
