Budget Day 2 - January 18, 2007

The Joint Legislative Ethics Committee dismissed a complaint filed against House Speaker Glenn Richardson, saying that there was not enough evidence to warrant further investigation.

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle announced plans to initiate charter school systems and career academies in Georgia. The proposal would cost an estimated $1.6 million.

And the Joint House and Senate Appropriations Committees wrapped up budget hearings on many state departments and authorities including Natural Resources, Transportation, Ports, and Corrections.
