Predatory Lending. Senate Republicans held a press conference today to announce their intention to amend Georgia's Fair Lending Act (GFLA). Senate Majority Leader Tom Price
and other Republicans plan to introduce their bill on Monday when the
legislature reconvenes. Lawmakers' Nwandi Lawson was there and has the
story.

Today was the last day of budget hearings at the State Capitol. Gerald Bryant talks with Senator Jack Hill,
chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee about the condition of
the state budget after three days of hearings, potential tax hikes and
more. We'll also have highlights from today's testimonies at the
hearings.

Indigent Defense. Governor Sonny Perdue is proposing the largest increase in indigent defense funding in recent years, but Sarah Smith of Georgia's Indigent Defense Council says that may not be enough to remedy this growing problem. David Zelski has that story.

Some State lawmakers got the chance to elect 6 new members to the Georgia Department of Transportation Board
today. However, legislators from the 13th Congressional District had to
postpone their vote until Tuesday after failing to reach the required
majority to elect a candidate. We'll have more on today's DOT board
elections.

Every session high school students come to the Capitol to learn
about the General Assembly. Lawmakers' Elizabeth Cowart reports on Teen Pact, a group of high school students from around Georgia who are here this week to learn about their state government.

Fourth graders from Mt. Zion Christian Academy spent the day
at the Capitol. Lawmakers' Cheznee Egemonye joined them for their tour
and chatted with the students to find out what they had learned.
