Flag protestors appear at the capitol both for and against changing
the current flag. David Zelski has both sides of the debate. Governor Perdue and House Speaker Terry Coleman weigh in with their thoughts on a statewide referendum.

Gerald Bryant has an exclusive interview with Senator Eric Johnson, the new President Pro Tempore, about reapportionment, tort reform, the budget, and the state flag.

Senator Tom Price, the new Majority Leader, announces plans
for budget hearings next week, as well as plans to stay in session
through the end of the week. Committee assignments are expected late
today.

Even though the session only officially began yesterday, legislators
got a head start on upcoming issues at the 23rd Biennial Institute for
Georgia Legislators. David Zelski shows us how legislators old and new
prep for the session.

Inaugural festivities drew to a close last night at a celebration at
the Georgia World Congress Center. Lawmakers Hamilton Northcutt was
there and has highlights from the gala.
