Waste to Watts

by James Molini and Patrick Caputo

Waste to Watts

Capitalizing on sustainability, Waste to Watts is created by reusing discarded parts to devise a system that provides much-needed power in third world countries. It was invented by James Molini (Electrical and Computer Engineering, Newark, Delaware) and Patrick Caputo (Electrical Engineering and Physics, Gahanna, Ohio).

The inventors state that "by competing in Inventure we have an opportunity to increase awareness of the devastating energy crisis in the developing world. We have a chance to showcase our innovation and how we can reuse waste that is thrown away everyday to help improve the quality of life for people in the world who need it the most."

Watch the InVenture Prize @ Georgia Tech live on Wednesday, March 9th at 7pm on Georgia Public Broadcasting to see if Waste to Watts will win!
