Hidden Heroes

Over 100,000 Dutch Jews died during the Holocaust; families were shattered and most were left homeless. Hidden Heroes takes viewers to the Netherlands where a number of Dutch Jews relive the terrifying ordeal they experienced at the hands of the Nazis, and provide accounts of the daring "hidden heroes" who risked their lives to shelter and save them. The Dutch Resistance provided "safe houses" for children, fed the nearly 400,000 Jews in hiding, aided in bombing Nazi trains and traded information with Nazis to save others. Beginning with Germany's invasion of Holland in 1940, Hidden Heroes is a compelling story of unimaginable courage. The program contains dramatic re-enactments and interviews with Dutch Resistance historians, movement members and organizers as well as survivors. Each subject paints a vivid portrait of the Holocaust's horrors.
