Georgia Weekly High-School Graduation – Despite a lot of attention and some effective new programs, the high-school drop-out rate in Georgia is still much too high. Why are our students giving up on education and what can be done about it? Dr. Amy Reschly from UGA’s Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology and Darnell Logan, a high-school psychologist in Fulton County, are researching the causes and solutions and they join us to share their insight and expertise.

Georgia Weekly Leah Ward Sears, Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court, will step down from the bench next year. She joins us to reflect on her tenure as Chief Justice, to talk about her plans for the future and to discuss why marriage and strong families always been among her top priorities.

Georgia Weekly will be on hiatus until after the legislative session. Please tune in at 1PM on Sundays to enjoy episodes of GPB’s Conversations series. Up first on Sunday, January 18 – Carl Sanders: A Conversation.
