Illegal Immigration – Should English be Georgia’s official language? Should illegal immigrants be able to get drivers’ licenses and car tags? And should it be legal to seize the car of an illegal immigrant if he or she is involved in a traffic accident? Bills focusing on these issues and more that target illegal immigrants are being worked on in the state legislature – and that has the Latino community very unhappy. Joining us to discuss the issues are Jerry Gonzalez, President of the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials and Phil Kent, National Spokesman for Americans for Immigration Control. Can Exercise Make Your Kids Smarter? – Research going on at the Medical College of Georgia and UGA says it can and it does. Joining us to discuss their findings are Dr. Phillip Tomporowski, Director of the Cognition and Skill Acquisition Laboratory at UGA’s College of Education and Dr. Catherine Davis, a clinical health psychologist at the Medical College of Georgia. Next week on Georgia Weekly – Charter Schools – Do they work and should there be more of them?
