Grady Hospital – Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta boasts an Emergency Care Center and a Burn Unit that are both nationally-acclaimed. It's the only Level One Trauma Center in the northern part of the state and it houses the only Poison Center in Georgia – but it is hemorrhaging money and some say by Christmas the hospital won't make payroll. Joining us to share his insight and expertise on the issue is the only hospital administrator to sit on the newly-created Grady Advisory Board, Jim Gardner, President and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System.

Also – Jekyll Island – Most people agree that Jekyll Island’s facilities need a make-over, but what should it look like and who should decide? The Jekyll Island Authority has selected a $352 million proposal, but some have problems with the plan. Joining us to discuss the issue are Eric Garvey, Senior Director of Marketing for the Jekyll Island Authority and Dory Ingram from the grassroots organization, The Initiative to Protect Jekyll Island.

Next week on Georgia Weekly: Michael Adams, President of UGA – The University of Georgia has become an educational powerhouse, with an ever-expanding number of undergraduates and research programs. UGA’s President, Dr. Michael F. Adams, will join us for a progress report on the nation's oldest state-chartered university.
