Tax Reform: A number of state tax reform initiatives are brewing at the Capitol. House Speaker Glenn Richardson would like to replace property and car taxes with a sales tax on services such as hairdressing and legal work and by reinstating a tax on groceries, Lt. Governor Casey Cagle wants to lower or abolish state income tax, and Governor Sonny Purdue is still advocating a tax break for seniors. Joining us to discuss the pros and cons of these ideas are Alan Essig, Executive Director of the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, and Kelly McCutchen, Executive Vice President of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation.

Ungodly: A True Story of Unprecedented Evil: In his new book, former AJC investigative journalist Bill Osinski exposes a criminal cult that operated virtually unchecked for more than three decades. In 1993 the Nuwaubian cult moved from Brooklyn, New York to rural Putnam County, where Dwight York, also known as Dr. Malachi, Z. York, and Imam Isa, devolved into a sexual predator of unprecedented proportions. He became the target of what prosecutors believe was the largest child molestation prosecution in United States history in terms of the number of victims and potential numbers of crimes. Bill Osinski joins us to discuss the story.
