A Legislative Update – How will the state fund PeachCare? Are special needs vouchers a good idea? And does the state have the right budgetary priorities? One month into the session, these questions and many more are being debated under the Gold Dome. Joining us to discuss the hottest issues are Shannon McCaffrey of the Associated Press, Randy Lewis of Georgia Political Digest, and James Salzer of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Next week on Georgia Weekly: Heart Disease in Georgia – in this special episode, we'll look at two aspects of heart disease in the state. First: heart disease affects African-Americans disproportionately. Dr. Gary H. Gibbons and Dr. Elizabeth Ofili of the Morehouse School of Medicine will join us to discuss why and what's being done about it. Then: Given the typical Georgia diet and lifestyle, how can we keep our hearts healthy? Cardiologist Dr. Gina Lundberg and Julie Schwartz, an Emory dietician, will give us some guidance.
