Dr. David Satcher was Director of the CDC and then the nation's 16th Surgeon General. In that role he led the fight against smoking and became the nation's spokesperson on such issues as youth violence, obesity, oral health, sexual health, and suicide prevention. Today he is based at the Morehouse School of Medicine, where he focuses on mental health and sexual health issues and whether or not we are prepared for a flu pandemic. Dr. Satcher joins us to discuss these topics and much more.

Next week on Georgia Weekly – The General Assembly convenes in early January. Joining us for a legislative preview will be Charles Richardson of the Macon Telegraph, Jim Galloway of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Emily Kopp of Georgia Public Broadcasting.
