Organic Farming – Is the U.S. behind the curve in adopting organic farming practices? And is Georgia behind even the national curve? Today, there are more than 4 million acres of organic farms in the United States but Georgia has only 800 acres. With growing demand for organic produce, how will organic farming factor into the state's agricultural economy? Alice Rolls, Executive Director of Georgia Organics joins us to discuss the opportunities and challenges.

Also this week – Patient-centered care – As medicine continues to become more and more technologically sophisticated and the systems that deliver medical care become more complex, the relationship between providers and patients and their families is more important than ever. The Medical College of Georgia is trying to buck this trend and become a nationally recognized facility, where partnership is a guiding vision to the care it delivers. Julie Moretz, Director of Family Services and Patricia Sodomka, Sr. V.P. of Patient and Family-Centered Care join us to discuss the program at MCG, which will also be highlighted on GPB at 6PM on Sunday, October 29 in the national PBS series, Remaking American Medicine.

Next week on Georgia Weekly: The elections are right around the corner. Joining us to discuss the political scene from opposing viewpoints are two political veterans, Chuck Clay and Buddy Darden.
