It's an election year, and the primaries are coming up on Tuesday, July 18th. One of the most hotly-contested races is to decide who will be the gubernatorial candidate for the Democrats. Georgia Weekly will give viewers a chance to meet both candidates and hear their agendas.

Up first - Cathy Cox. Born in Bainbridge, Cox brought experience in journalism and law to her public service. She won a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives in 1992 and claims a record of tax cuts and investments in local roads and schools. In 1999, Cox was elected as Georgia's Secretary of State and still serves in that office.

Georgia Weekly will cover Cox's agenda in depth, including her plans for education, health care, public safety and the state's economy.
