Dr. Wayne Clough, President of Georgia Tech – Georgia Tech is widely recognized for its academic and research programs, its partnerships with industry, government and other entities and its explosive growth over the past few years. Much of that has been guided by Wayne Clough, the university's tenth president, who took the helm in 1994. He joins us for a progress report on his institution including the role it is playing in the Southern Innovation Initiative, designed to keep the region in the forefront of American competitiveness.


Healthy marriage – Studies show that children reared by two parents reap multiple benefits, which extend well into their adulthood. Unfortunately, many children in the U.S. will not enjoy those benefits. 33% of children today are born out of wedlock and 27% have parents who will divorce. One-third of America's children live away from their fathers, and 40% never see them. Recognizing the problems that follow fractured families faith-based and secular groups are working to save the American family as an institution. Joining us to discuss the situation and some of the programs in place are Georgia Chief Justice Leah Sears and Randy Hicks, President of the Georgia Family Council.
