Atlanta Dogwood Festival and Piedmont Park
David Zelski visit’s Atlanta’s Piedmont Park during the annual Dogwood Festival , one of the Nation’s oldest Arts and Crafts festivals. However Piedmont has a history going back to the late 1800’s when Atlanta hosted the 1895 World’s Fair, known as the Cotton States and International Exposition.
Augusta's biggest claim to fame is The Masters Golf Tournament, a spring ritual when the eyes of the sporting world all focus on Georgia's second largest city. But the sheer magnitude of The Masters may sometimes obscure Augusta's other charms and a history that helps explain why this world renowned event happened to end up in Augusta. Bruce Burkhardt, in a prelude to his documentary, Augusta's Master Plan: From Sherman's March to Arnie's Army ,explores the rich history of this charming city on the Savannah River. It brings together two seemingly unrelated storylines: the story of golf and the story of Southern survival.
