At 6000 acres of pristine forest and recreation area, Smithgall Woods is the second largest state park in Georgia. Donated to the state in 1994 by Charles Smithgall, Smithgall Woods is the perfect spot to get away from it all. Visitors can enjoy hunting, overnight stays, take part in the Master Naturalist program, or, as David Zelski discovers, you just might catch a big one in Duke’s Creek! www.gastateparks.org
