Field Trip: Sapelo Island
The Sapelo Island Visitors Center hosts exibits that informs about the island's natural and cultural history. Sapelo is one of the most pristine of the Georgia barrier islands. In addition to its human history documented by archaeological findings all the way back to the Paleo-Indians, it's a great place for birdwatchers to bring their binoculars. The island is reached by a ferry which departs from Darien.
