Field Trip: The Morton Theatre

The Morton Theatre is one of four original African-American vaudeville theatres remaining in the United States. Built in 1910, it was later converted to a movie house, but not before hosting many a famous vaudeville star. In 1987 restoration work began and it re-opened as a beautiful theater once again in 1994. The folks at the Theatre will arrange a tour for your class. They will design it to your time frame (as they say on their web site -- from 5 minutes to one hour).
