Field Trip: Fort Morris State Historical Park

If you're learning about the "Liberty Boys," doesn't it make sense to consider a visit to Liberty County? Fort Morris not only served colonists fighting for their freedom in the Revolutionary War; it also saw use during the War of 1812. During these formative years, the fort even fell into British hands for a short while (it was then called, in a less than imaginative stroke, "Fort George").The Web site listed here describes the many pleasures that await a visitor to Fort Morris. Interestingly, in addition to its historical interests, the park has gained fame as a fabulous bird watching location.
