Field Trip: Fort Federica National Historic Site
Established by James Oglethorpe in 1736, Fort Frederica witnessed much action between British and Spanish forces fighting for control of the region. Served as a major base for the English from 1736-1748. The park includes a museum that explores the history of this region.
