As the list of study topics indicates, this museum has much to offer the student of Georgia history. Most prominent for school groups are the number of specially designed and guided 'hands on' tours. As of this writing, they include 'Georgia Farm Life' (mid-19th century), 'Customs and Culture (influence of Native Americans, European, Asian, Hispanic and African cultures influenced US southeastern culture), 'Expedition through Swan Woods' (identify plants used for medicine, food, and other products through history), 'United We Stand' (Civil War), 'Arc-Kid-Tech Tour' (design of the mansion and the roaring 20's), and 'Black Phoenix: African-American History in Atlanta' (achievements, adversities overcome). You can also view a number of exhibits along with these tours. Truly a rich experience for students to re-live history.
