The Altamaha River of southeast Georgia is often called the "Little Amazon" for its exotic beauty and its astounding biodiversity.

Kayak Guide Michael Gowen, of SouthEast Adventure Outfitters, will take the Georgia Outdoors crew on a 3 day voyage down the Altamaha River. We'll travel over forty river miles from just south of Jesup, Georgia all the way into the Atlantic Ocean.

Along the way we'll meet up with several caretakers of this amazing waterway: the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Altamaha Riverkeepers and The Nature Conservancy.

Oh, and we'll have to fish for our supper!
