Known widely as an athletic and cultural powerhouse, the University of Georgia in Athens has more to behold. As America’s first state-chartered college and the state’s original repository of botanical and cultural artifacts, the grass really is greener at UGA. This is bulldog territory, and is surprising home to some of Georgia’s most interesting landscapes.

The Hunter Cattle Company in Brooklet is a “pastured and sustainable” farm which raises cattle, hogs, and chickens without giving them antibiotics, hormones or caging them. They have other animals such as horses, rabbits, goats, turkeys, lambs, and ducks. David got a chance to spend the day on the farm feeding the pigs, collecting, cleaning and packaging eggs, and he enjoyed a few leisure activities on the farm including the evening pig roast. The family run Hunter Cattle Co. invites everyone who has ever wanted to be a farmer or rancher to come experience that dream.
