National Infantry Museum

The National Infantry Museum outside the gates of Fort Benning in Columbus is a multi media tribute to those soldiers who fought and continue to fight our wars. Open only two years, the museum recently won a THEA Award which is considered the "Oscar" of the themed entertainment industry. Its exhibits, highlighted by its signature exhibit, "The Last 100 Yards," do not glorify war but instead honors those who have answered the call to fight. The exhibits, the artifacts, the entire experience helps visitors get a sense of what it might be like to fight in the infantry.
