A new historical marker in Columbus tells the story of a mob of women who led a bread riot during the Civil War.
The Georgia Historical Society, the Georgia Battlefields Association and the Department of Economic Development are sponsoring the downtown plaque on the 1300 block of Broadway.
If you love Georgia Traveler, then go see Robert Redford's upcoming film "The Conspirator." Why? Because, "A" it's about the Civil War, which we are featuring this season on the show and, "B" it was shot in Savannah. They made the city and Fort Pulaski look like Washington, D.C. in 1865. So pretty. I saw it over the weekend and loved it. It arrives in theaters in April.
