Spring Fever!

Spring has almost sprung! The flowers are blooming. The days are getting longer. It’s time to get outside and see what nature has to offer. Hiking is a popular sport that exposes kids to nature and keeps them healthy. Georgia’s state parks are the perfect place to see nature up close and personal. Visit http://gastateparks.org/ for more information.

Moms and Dads, while on your family hike, get the video camera ready and make a recording of your activities, whether hiking around Cloudland Canyon or exploring the beautiful waterfalls at Amicaloa Falls. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and enter the Georgia Outdoors Earth Day Video Contest and display Georgia’s spectacular beauty. For more information visit the Georgia Outdoors website, http://www.gpb.org/georgia-outdoors.

Spring is a time of renewal. What better way to renew yourself than to reprogram your body. On Sunday, March 13th at 1 PM, watch KickStart Your Health with Dr. Neal, as he reveals how to jumpstart your body, suggests healthy alternatives to junk food and ways to improve your energy.

To keep our energy high, we’re playing basketball. March Madness starts at GPB with GHSA basketball championships. Tune in on Friday, March 11 at 3 PM and Saturday, March 12 at 9:30 AM, as the top high school basketball teams in Georgia hoop it up for the championships. This will be a real nail biter as teams from across the state want the fame and the glory of being number one.

March Madness continues with the GPB membership campaign to support quality programming that educates, entertains and inspires Georgia citizens. Watch GPB to become a member and spread the word that we’ve got programming worth sharing!
