In this episode of Conversations, Susan Hoffman talks with Howard Hollis Callaway, better known as Bo Callaway, about his life and legacy. Callaway was Georgia’s first Republican Congressman, a confidante of Presidents and – almost – Georgia’s only Republican Governor of the 20th Century. Callaway grew up in West Georgia, where his family had settled in the mid-19th Century and built a fortune on textiles. He inherited from them a commitment to public service and an entrepreneurial spirit, which inspired the development of Callaway Gardens in Georgia and the Crested Butte resort in Colorado.
