If you love dogs and want to support a great cause, the Fourth Annual S.H.A.R.E. House Paws-an-Effect Dog Show provides a great opportunity to have fun with your pet and do something that benefits others in the community. The event takes place at Deer Lick Park in Douglasville on Saturday, October 13, from 9 AM to 1 PM. All proceeds benefit S.H.A.R.E. House, a local non-profit organization that provides safety and shelter to hundreds of victims of domestic violence.

Deer Lick Park is one of my favorite places to take my dog Summer, and I attended last year’s event. It’s a fun day for the whole family, with activities ranging from the one mile Doggie Fun Run to the Howl-A-Ween Costume Parade. Other great events include competitions for Best in Show, Best Pet Trick, Best Purebred, Most Mysterious Heritage, Most Obedient, Most Masculine, Most Feminine, Best Tail Wagging, and Celebrity Dog Look Alike.

The event will also feature pet adoptions, vendor booths, demonstrations, prizes and more. For more information, visit www.sharehousedouglas.org and click on the “Events” section.
