No. 1-ranked McEachern completed its quest for an unbeaten season with a 62-54 win over defending champion Meadowcreek in the Class AAAAAAA boys championship game on Saturday at the Macon Coliseum.

The Indians (32-0) were led by Sharife Cooper, who had 20 points and four assists, and Isaac Okoro had 16 points, four rebounds and four assists.  Alyn Breed tallied 15 points, six rebounds and three steals. 

No. 2-ranked Meadowcreek (26-6) was led by Jalen Benjamin with 19 points and Jamir Chaplin with 13 points.

McEachern jumped out early, but Meadowcreek was able to catch the Indians and take a 15-11 lead on a layup by Jammonie Watkins-Causey with 1:40 left in the opening quarter. But fueled by a technical foul, McEachern went on a 10-0 run and eventually led 28-17 on a Jared Jones layup with 5:41 left in the half. The Indians held a 38-28 lead at halftime.

McEachern dominated the glass, outrebounding Meadowcreek 28-12. The Indians were successful at the line, making 19 of 25.
