Tyrin Lawrence scored 19 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead No. 1 Morgan County to a 68-54 win over No. 8 Hart County and win the Class 3A boys championship on Thursday at the Macon Coliseum.

It was the third time Morgan County (30-2) has beaten Region 8 rival Hart County this season. It is the third state championship in six seasons for Morgan County, which also won the title in 2014 and 2016. 

Lawrence led the trio of Morgan County guards that have been so effective all season. Stevin Green scored 14 and Austin Peay signee Alec Woodard scored 13. Phillip Crawford came off the bench to go 4-for-5 from the floor and score 11. 

Hart County (24-8) got 19 points and 11 rebounds from Rex McCord, 11 points from Shone Webb and 10 points from Tyrese Morrison.

Morgan County jumped out to a 19-12 lead after the first quarter and Hart was never able to catch up. Morgan County dominated the glass, outrebounding Hart County 40-26, and was 21-for-28 at the line.
