Twin sisters Ansley and Ashley Whitley combined to score 32 points and help Marion County beat Calhoun County 50-38 and win the Class A Public girls championship.

It was the first girls basketball title for the No. 1-ranked Eagles (28-1).

Ansley Whitley scored 20 points and had nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Ashley Whitley scored 12 points and 12 rebounds. Marion County also got 13 points from Jameisha Williams.

Calhoun County (26-3) was led by Destiny Hightower with 12 points and Jateriah Winbush with 10 points and three steals.

Marion County dominated the glass, outrebounding Calhoun County 40-27. Marion County scored 26 points in the pain.
