Inside information: Calhoun County is the No. 1 in the classification. The Cougars have won their last two games in overtime – beating Pelham in the quarterfinals and defending champion Wilkinson County in double OT in the semifinals. Calhoun County has won two state championship, in 1972 and 1997. Curry and Smith were voted co-Players of the Year from Region 1. Smith scored 30 in the semifinal win over Wilkinson County.
