Football Fridays in Georgia continues Friday with a stop in Alpharetta for a Class 7A semifinal between Lowndes and Milton. 

Lowndes (10-3) reached the semifinals by beating No. 2 Grayson 20-15. The Vikings, the runner-up in Region 1, lost regular-season meetings to Parkview, Tift County and No. 1-ranked Colquitt County. Lowndes reached the semifinals in 2016 and won the state championship in 2007.  

Milton (11-2) advanced with a 20-19 victory over previously  unbeaten and No. 4-ranked Hillgrove. The Eagles, under second-year coach Adam Clack, won their region championship for the first time since 2014. Their two losses came in back-to-backs games against Roswell and Parkview.
