This week Football Fridays in Georgia, heads to south Georgia, to Moultrie, Georgia where the 7-1 Lowndes Vikings will take on the 5-4 and two time defending state champion Colquitt County Packers. Both teams are unbeaten in region and play and the winner of this game will be the region champ, and that is huge. Packers Coach Rush Propst explains, “to win this game is huge. Not only do you get two home games instead of one, but if things work out that the favorite wins the winner of this game would have a coin flip with Grayson in the quarterfinals and playing that game at home would obviously be a huge advantage.” GPB Sports is heading to Moultrie with a crew of fifty to bring this game to a statewide audience. Matt Stewart and former Atlanta Falcon Chuck Smith will be behind the microphones to call the game with Jon Nelson patrolling the sidelines as always. This week Jackie Brittain will have interviews with Packers quarterback Jay Saunders. She will also talk to one Packer who is on track to get a college scholarship to play football next year, and his proud family, who is thrilled that he will continue his education along with his football career. Matt will have all the news on the blue chip players in his GPB Recruiting Roundup. Chuck will bring us the Komatsu Forklift Keys to the Game. Jon Nelson also visits the Georgia coast to see how Hurricane Matthew impacted families and high school football there. Jon also visits Cave Spring, Georgia for a very interesting story I think you will all enjoy...and will not want to miss. We will hear from Lowndes coach Randy McPherson and I will talk to Packers coach Rush Propst. Rich Novack of Cigna will talk about childhood obesity and the steps parents can take to help their children avoid this epidemic. Our friends at Heads Up Georgia will also have an important message about the dangers of distracted driving. So join us this Friday night for the second South Georgia Grid Iron Classic. It is the Lowndes Vikings. It is the Colquitt County Packers. And at the end of the night one of these two teams will be the Class 7A Region 1 champion. This one could be an instant classic. Our coverage kicks off at 7pm with our All Access Pass Pregame Show. Don’t miss a second of the fun on the great GPB.
