So, we are now here…

The 14 survivors who have made it to the last games of their respective seasons… it’s Game 14 for some and Game 15 for others…

Some folks have been there before and some have never been there at all…

For some, it’s a long time between championship game appearances and for others it was just last year…

So, Dear Reader, that’s where the question comes into play for this week:

“What was the biggest surprise for you that made it to the Dome this season…???”

This time, we’re talking team…was it pace Academy’s run as a four-seed? Westminster’s run as a 3-seed? Let’s find out how everyone got there…

In 6A, nationally-ranked Colquitt County had their hands full with Mill Creek, but by the end of 48 minutes put up 52 points on one of the toughest defenses in the state.

Quintarius Neely threw it as far as he could in the last seconds to get Roswell in the last game of the year to take on Colquitt…

Jake Wallace gives us a look at some other action in Quad-A with Cartersville taking on Bainbridge, Fitzgerald travelling to Louisville to play Jefferson County, and single-a play involving Irwin County, ECI, Commerce, and Clinch. Jake starts off, however, with some guy talking to the Colquitt coach after his win (and the highlights). He looks really familiar…

The “Game of the Week” for some outside of the top classification was, probably, in quad-a where Buford took on Woodward Academy. A lot of top talent was on display in front of a packed house and a lot of college coaches (we’re pretty sure…)

And, one last trip for this week goes to one of the toughest regions in the state- regardless of classification: Class 3-5A where Ware County and Glynn Academy had a spot in the Finals for the winner. Our friends at ActionNewsJax have the look, about 5:00 in as their last highlight…

Time to wrap it up for another week…

But it’s our biggest week of the year… 7 games in 40 hours on the “Great GPB”- all seven title games with the last 14 standing… So join the ENTIRE GPB Army- Matt, Larry, Sam, Tommy, Mark, Jackie, Chuck, Niki, and some other friends on Facebook (GPB Sports), Twitter (@GPBSports or me @OSGNelson), Snapchat, the GPB Sports app, GPB.org/sports if you want to stream the games or any other new-fangled way people do it these days!!!

It will be fun and it will fly by!

So, for one last time ON the field this year…

Play it safe, everyone… I’ll see you at The Dome…
