Thursday in Georgia sports, it was a comeback that thrilled the state. In the opening round of the 2015 NCAA tournament, the Georgia State Panthers rallied late against third-seeded Baylor, jumping to a 57-56 lead right before the final buzzer to advance to the second round of the dance. The Panthers trailed by as many as twelve points but turned it on with a three-pointer from R.J. Hunter with 2.7 seconds left. The shot from beyond the arc sealed the win and shocked the college basketball world, no doubt busting quite a few NCAA brackets along the way. This was the third trip to the NCAA tournament for Georgia State, this season's Sun Belt champion, and the first since 2001. The win, the Panthers 25th on the season, gives a huge boost to the program and specifically Head Coach Ron Hunter, who coached today on a rolling chair due to his injured left Achilles tendon. Next up, they'll meet the winner of the Xavier-Ole Miss game on Saturday. As the national spotlight turned to the GSU program with the win, their momentum only continues to build. Twenty-five W's, a conference championship and now an NCAA tournament win....a victory that college basketball fans will remember for a long, long, time.
