The Garden proved too much for the Atlanta Dream yesterday as they recorded their fourth loss of the season to the New York Liberty 78-85.

Atlanta prevailed over New York a few times before: on Friday and in the preseason this past May. However, this time, the Dream wasn’t so lucky and not having home court advantage did not help their cause. For all four quarters, both teams rallied back and forth for the lead until late in the third quarter when the Liberty began to pull away with a 14-4 run. In the fourth, the Dream couldn’t create enough momentum to overcome their deficit by the sound of the last buzzer.

The Dream’s lead scorer of the game was guard Angel McCoughtry (35). The five-year pro led her team with thirty-three points that night; fifteen more than Friday’s game at home. She also missed only two of her five three-point attempts, though still not enough to dribble her team to victory.

McCoughtry and the Dream will have a chance to break their 1-1 streak with the Liberty on Sunday August 3 at 3 o’clock pm, this time in Atlanta.
