Last night, Blessed Trinity senior quarterback Spencer McManes announced he was headed to the Ivy League next season to attend Yale. McManes, a four-year starter at the Roswell school, led the Titans to the playoffs the last two seasons under coach Tim McFarlin. In an email to Score, Skip McManes said Spencer “is psyched. It’s been a long road.” McManes last suited up in the 2012 Chamber Bowl for the South team.

While the Class of 2013 has still yet to put pen to paper, some colleges are already after members of the Class of 2014. Friday night, Sandy Creek wide receiver Demarre Kitt tweeted that Michigan had offered. Kitt de-committed from UGA in October and holds offers from Clemson, Ohio State, USC, Miami and Auburn, among others. Kitt recently declared Ohio State and Clemson as his co-leaders.

Kitt’s Sandy Creek teammate Shaq Wiggins has already made official visits to Florida and Georgia, but he visited South Carolina over the weekend and will visit Ole Miss on Jan. 25 before giving Texas A&M his final visit. Wiggins has been committed to Georgia since February 2012, but rumors are circulating that he is interested in playing with former Sandy Creek teammate JaQuay Williams, who signed with Texas A&M out of Fork Union Military.

Georgia State has managed to snag yet another in-state prospect when South Paulding defensive end Carnell Hopson pledged to the program over offers from Western Carolina and Georgia Southern.

Finally, former Wilcox County star Nick Marshall, who spent one season at UGA as a cornerback before spending last season at Garden City junior college has announced that he will sign with Auburn to play quarterback. Marshall was a standout quarterback/cornerback in high school and also excelled at basketball. He was part of the Dream Team before being dismissed over an incident that reportedly involved the theft of money from a teammate.
