It's that time...

Or the beginning of "that time" anyway...

It's where people start sorting each other out as they start region play, will start region play, or try and figure themselves out before region play starts...

And one region in particular gets to beat each other up for the remainder of the season...

The First Thing I Know... Region 1-6A is going to be a blast...

And think about it... the first week match-ups are like this...
Camden County is at Valdosta, Tift is at Coffee, and Lowndes is at Colquitt...
Brunswick gets to see all of this unfold with an off week...

And what did Blue Devils head coach John Reid decide to do before region play started...???
Take on Thomas County Central at Brodie Field...
Robert Hydrick is in the Locker Room...

Page Title - No value

This will be one of the most entertaining regions in the history of regions...
Mark my words...

Second Thing I Know... Two More Coaches Who Want Challenges...

Last week, the number four and five teams in quad-a played in a match-up... Burke County and Statesboro... and you figured that the last person to get the ball was going to win... Burke trailed 14-0 in the second quarter but dominated from there in a game between 3-0 teams- scoring 35 unanswered. QB Donquell Green rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns. Statesboro was held to 180 total yards and nine first downs, according to the Statesboro Herald.

But, get this...the teams could meet again in November if each wins its subregion of Region 3...
Frank and Stephanie give you the Frenzy...and the highlights are about half-way in...

Third Thing I Know... Keep an eye on Thomson...

I know, I know... I seem to say that a lot these days...

Milan Turner succeeded Luther Welsh as the Bulldogs head coach and he has had things on overdrive since...
Last week, as part of their non-region schedule, they added LaGrange to the likes of St. Pius and Burke (before they play GAC this week). They held on 49-42 after trailing 21-0, 28-7 and 42-35 before pulling out the victory. And, as our friends Chip and Todd let us know from the GHSF Daily, it's the first time in history the Bulldogs have won while allowing more than 40 points.

William Bussey's 18-yard run in the final minutes gave Thomson its first lead, 49-42 and you can add Chris Jordan 202 yards to their offense. Thomson had three critical interceptions, one by Torrie Battle that he returned for Thomson's first touchdown and sparked the comeback.

Matt and Thomas tell the tale... at about the 3:20 mark...

Fourth Thing I Know... Upsets, I Have Upsets...

Let's start with Bleckley over Dodge... and I can't really do the highlights justice...
I'll just let Ben and Frank take it... they're out of their shoes on this one...

Add to that wins by Irwin, Dutchtown, Douglass, and Rabun Gap and it was another busy week...

Fifth Thing I Know... blatant plug time...
