Kautex of Georgia, Inc. has announced it will expand its production facility in Lavonia by adding a 95,000 square foot warehouse.

The company is a subsidiary of German-based Textron Incorporated.

Currently the plant manufactures fuel tanks, catalytic converters and other parts used in automobile manufacturing. The expansion is expected to cost $3.3 million and be completed by May.

According to a report from AreaDevelopment.com, the expansion in Lavonia means Kautex will continue to play a major role in local job creation.

“This new warehouse will allow us to solidify our operations in the community and to be able to better meet the needs of our customers throughout the United States,” explains Tyler Miles, Director of Operations Lavonia, Kautex of Georgia, Inc. “We proudly look back on our history in the community and we are looking forward to our future. Continuous collaboration with the various agencies to remain a preeminent employer in the Lavonia area is one of our main priorities.”
