The newest entrant into the Georgia “Crowdfunding” sector has just opened for business.

According to CrowdFundInsider.com, Sparkmarket is now accepting investments for Bohemian Guitars, a Marietta, GA-based manufacturer of decorative guitars made out of oil cans.

Georgia is one of just two states that allows intrastate crowdfunding of up to $1 million.

The Invest Georgia Exemption (IGE) allows Georgia investors to purchase small ownership stakes in start-up companies. The funding model is specifically designed to help create and grow small businesses. Small businesses create 2 of 3 new jobs in the U.S.

Some financial experts predict this source of funding will soon become mainstream as technology supports information sharing between investors and capital seekers.
