Real estate website Movoto.com has released its annual list of “America’s Smartest Cities”. Atlanta ranks #4.

The ranking takes into account the 100 largest cities in the U.S. based on population.

Six criteria were considered to determine the “smartest” cities.

  • Universities and colleges per person
  • Libraries per person
  • Education level
  • Media per person (newspapers, TV, radio, magazines)
  • Museums per person
  • Public school rank

Each city was given a rank from 1-100 for each of the six criteria. The cities were then ranked on a cumulative score from the six criteria.
